Hosting a Conference Call

To host a conference for callers outside of the city phone system, your attendees will need to:

1) Call (913) 856-0976.

2) Enter the conference ID (see below)

3) Hit the pound (#) key.

From within the city phone system:

1) Dial *68

2) Enter the conference ID (see below)

3) Hit the pound (#) key.

There are three conference ID's to choose from, and it doesn't matter which you choose, but all participants in a single conference must use the same ID. The three options are 4187, 5125, and 7073. Only give your participants a single one of the ID's, you'll just confuse them if you give them more.

The system can host up to 2 x 64 participant conferences, but we only have 24 incoming lines so the practical limit is about 15 without affecting the city's ability to make and receive calls outside of the system. Callers to the conference from within the city system using the *68 number do not count towards the 15 person limit.

There are audible indicators to all participants when someone enters or leaves the conference: 1 beep for enter, 2 beeps for leave.
